How To Get Lightsabers Home From Disney World?

Star Wars fans visiting Disney World can make their dreams come true by bringing home a lightsaber purchased or built in the parks.

These Jedi-inspired keepsakes never cease to amaze, ignite nostalgia, or keep the magic of the movies alive.

Disney World guests can get their lightsabers home either by shipping them to their home address or by bringing them on the plane as a carry-on or checked item. During the day, parkgoers can have their lightsabers delivered to their Disney Resort hotel room or ask a Cast Member to store them near the park entrance until they leave.

This article reveals where guests can find lightsabers at Disney World, how to safely get them home, and where they can be kept for the day while visitors enjoy the rest of the parks.

Where Can You Buy a Lightsaber at Disney World?

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a few locations where guests can buy lightsabers, including Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, Savi’s Workshop, and even Hollywood Boulevard’s Keystone Clothiers.

For in-park directions to shop carrying lightsabers, ask a Cast Member at Guest Services or download the My Disney Experience app.

Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities

Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge stocks an array of jewelry, kyber crystals, ancient tools, and lightsabers collected by the legendary Dok-Ondar himself.

At Dok-Ondar’s, guests can browse a selection of lightsabers and update them by purchasing different kyber crystals that change the color and intentions of their laser swords.

Savi’s Workshop

Parkgoers can craft and purchase the most valuable and interactive lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop, also found in Galaxy’s Edge.

Upon arrival at the Workshop, guests venture to the Black Spire Outpost before Savi’s Gatherers lead them into a discrete work room.

Once settled in the workshop, guides assist builders with the construction of their very own 31” (78.7 cm) lightsaber.

Guests must keep in mind that the forging area only accommodates one builder and one guest – one of whom must be at least 14 years old.

Lightsabers come in four hilt themes, and each bespoke creation holds the essence of that choice.

To complement each theme, builders construct their own hilts and choose between red, blue, green, or violet kyber crystals to ignite their lightsabers.

The themes for the lightsabers are:

1. Peace and Justice

These lightsabers are composed of scraps salvaged from fallen Jedi temples and the wreckages of various starships.

The Republic-era design of these lightsabers honors the galaxy’s former guardians.

2. Power and Control

This design was created by warriors on the Dark Side and is said to hold remnants from abandoned temples and the Sith homeworld.

3. Elemental Nature

This style of lightsaber encapsulates the Force. The Force is the energy conjured up by all living things, such as Brylark trees, Cartusion Whale bones, and Rancor teeth.

4. Protection and Defense

These lightsabers hold hilt materials that carry mysterious inscriptions and motifs that align owners with the ancient wellspring of the Force.

Entering Savi’s Workshop requires a non-refundable reservation made via the My Disney Experience app or the Disney website.

This interactive experience costs $249.99 plus tax and is subject to availability.

Keystone Clothiers

It’s rumored that some Jedi and Sith lightsabers have been displayed at Keystone Clothiers in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

These replica lightsabers are often found at Dok-Ondars but have recently made their debut outside of Galaxy’s Edge.

Visitors might even find the lightsabers of Luke, Darth Vader, or Mace Windu in this shop.

Can Lightsabers Be Shipped From Disney World?

Shipping a lightsaber is the most fuss-free way to get it home from Disney World, and visitors can mail their lightsabers from the Droid Depot, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, or their Disney Resort hotel.

Shipping is an additional charge, and rates will vary depending on the destination address.

Can You Bring a Lightsaber on a Plane?

Thankfully, the TSA allows lightsabers on planes; however, passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines (in advance!) to confirm there are no additional restrictions.

Usually, these popular souvenirs are accepted in checked luggage or as a carry-on, and on most planes, lightsabers can be stored under the seats or in overhead compartments.

Since Savi’s customized lightsabers are made of glass, many travelers opt to carry them on so they can keep an eye on their fragile creations.

Fortunately, Savi’s lightsabers come with a carrying case, which makes this option easier and stress-free.

Can You Store Your Lightsabers at the Theme Parks?

Disney World policies discourage guests from open-carrying their lightsabers around the theme parks (except for photo ops).

Gift shop bags and the carrying case included from Savi’s help solve this issue, but they are still a hassle to lug around.

Moreover, visitors may have bought their lightsabers before they were done riding all the rides!

While most belongings can be stored in the rental lockers at each theme park, lightsabers (specifically those built at Savi’s) are slightly too big for even the largest cubby.

To remedy this, parkgoers can visit Disney’s Package Pickup page to check out available services.

One option is to ask a Retail Cast Member to deliver the lightsaber to a designated pick-up area near the front entrance.

At the end of the day, guests can grab their sabers as they make their way out of the park.

Cast Members can also arrange to have Disney merchandise delivered to visitors staying at Disney Resort hotels.

The easiest option, however, is to shop for lightsabers or visit Savi’s at the end of a day at the park.

Conclusion

Disney World guests can get their lightsabers home by shipping them or bringing them on the plane as a carry-on or checked item.

Star Wars fans can purchase lightsabers at select locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, Savi’s Workshop, and Keystone Clothiers.

Parkgoers can store their lightsabers (and other merchandise) during the day while they explore the parks or have their purchases delivered to their Disney Resort hotel room.

To take advantage of these options, guests should speak to a Cast Member at any retail location.
